Waterside is a residential complex with 20 apartments located in the north of the island, in the heart of Grand Bay. The apartment consists of 3 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, one baby-room with a baby-cot, play-space and en-suite bathroom, a fully-equipped open-plan kitchen, a cosy living room with a flat-screen 40” LCD television, as well as a covered veranda looking out onto the refreshing garden where guests can enjoy coffee in the morning.

The lodging is designed for couples or families who would like to enjoy both the large swimming pool and within 100 meters walk the Grand Bay Beach, one of the nicest sandy beach and clear blue waters of the island.

Location
Located directly next to the Mosque of Grand Bay, you quickly realize that you are in a different culture. Five times a day the muezzin calls the faithful to prayer for about 1 minute.

The northern region is known as the most tourist-orientated region of the island.
Due to its fine location, Waterside offers guests the opportunity to choose between two of the most popular beaches in Mauritius, namely Mont Choisy and Péreybère, only at 2 kilometres distance from this lodging. Between Grand Bay and Péreybère is yet another small jewel, the famous beach La Cuvette, just a few minutes drive from Grand Bay, next to one of the world's best hotels, namely Royal Palm. This is an ideal place for picnics as there are places to sit in shadow areas.

Fine restaurants are just within a few minutes driving from the apartment, as Le Capitaine, one of the best if not the best fish-food restaurant in the north, located just opposite to the very popular Beach House Restaurant. For those who want to experience both day as well as night life there are plenty of bars and clubs that offer you a chance to party, like 'Les Enfants Terribles' during weekends, 'Bananabar" in Grand Bay for weekdays.

Rooms
The apartment has a cosy and welcoming interior which will make you feel at home. On the ground level there is a cosy living room with dining table and a fully-equipped kitchen. On the first floor there is one bedroom with a Queen Size bed, en-suite bathroom with toilet and a balcony with view over the garden and pool. The 1st and 2nd floor balconies are provided with very comfortable outdoor furniture, ideally to retire and read a book. Also on the 1st floor is a baby-bedroom that can be optionally used simply as a dressing room. Here there is a in-built wardrobe and a bathroom with shower and toilet. The bedrooms on the 2nd floor are identical in construction to the 1st floor ones, with the difference that one bedroom has a bathroom with a shower without toilet. One bedroom has a Queen Size bed and a balcony overlooking the pool and palm garden and the second one is slightly smaller to sleep, but more than enough for 2 people.

All bedrooms have air-conditioning which is included in the price. In the living room there is an elegant ceiling fan installed which provides cooling on hot days.

The terrace is decorated with a very comfortable rattan sofa. The pool area is shared, however, most of the apartments will be used only on weekends and thus the residential complex is not overcrowded during week days.

Activities
While any Mauritius holiday is filled with sun, there are also plenty of things to do and see away from the beach. Grand Bay is an important centre for yachting, water-skiing, windsurfing, deep sea fishing, kite surfing (Cap Malheureux), sailing and many other sports. For beginners or those looking to dip into some light diving, several diving schools are also nearby. There is a diving school located in the vicinity of Péreybère Beach, 'Orca dive', with very good safety standards as well as German, French and English speaking instructors.
The dive sites around Grand Bay are very popular among connoisseurs, from the shallow wreck diving to the 40m deep reef diving on the offshore island of Coin de Mire.

If you want to experience the country, bicycles and scooters can be rented 200 metres from the apartment.

You may also go on a a sightseeing tour including La Nicolière drive and the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden or directly on the beach you can book a catamaran tour to Île Plate and Îlôt Gabriel.

Grand Bay and the north of the island offer everything a tourist could desire, whether it will be sunbathing, sailing, shopping, enjoying the night life or dining out.

Service
Housekeeping is provided 3 times weekly and pool maintenance daily.The linen and towels are changed once per week and more often if necessary.
For additional services, such as ironing, babysitting, washing or cooking the maid will be kind enough to help you against a small supplement.

Gastronomy
The apartment has a well-equipped kitchen for self catering, however if you want bars and restaurants, you'll have plenty of them within few minutes walk or drive. Within 500 metres away from the apartment there is Super U supermarket where you can find a wide range of products. A fish market can be found right in the centre of Grand Bay, just 500 metres from the apartment.

Tips/Recommendations
A rental car is not absolutely required in this area, however, it is advisable that you book one in order to explore the island.
