Villa Athena

Villa Athena is a premium class resort. The villas opened in December 2011 and on several travel review sites this resort received very good reviews. This can only emphasize the high quality features, the attention to details and the good services offered here. The villas are only slightly different from each other, all have the same high standard. Each villa has a private pool with a tropical garden.

Location
Situated in the north, about 2 minutes drive from Grand Bay, this resort gives you plenty of choices in reaching quickly the nearby beaches. If you rather prefer sandy beaches, these are only a few minutes drive away in Trou aux Biches and Mont Choisy. Those who prefer the small bays and good snorkeling places will feel at ease in the region of Péreybère and Cap malheureux. The east coast with its gorgeous secluded beaches can be reached from here in only about 30 minutes.
Grand Bay is located close to this property, therefore tourists will find plenty of opportunities here, everything from souvenir shops to great day trips. Due to the new highway to Mahébourg the entire island is also easy to reach from the north. Travel time to / from Mahébourg (airport) is approximately 70 minutes.

Service
Villa Athena is not a hotel, but provides similar standards and is managed likewise.
For example, there is daily cleaning service and upon request guests can have their cloths washed and ironed. The villas also feature a 24h manned security (concierge). Of course, the price includes bed linen and towels.

Gastronomy
Villa Athena is offered with breakfast. A large supermarket (Super U) is located about 1 km away from the villa. If you don't want to cook, you may use the catering service offered by this resort.

Rooms
The elegant villas are harmoniously painted in beige tones. A well equipped open-plan kitchen is integrated into the living room. From the large living / dining room you can enjoy the view of the garden with pool.

The resort offers in 4 types of villas:

1 Bedroom Villa - 2 persons - 1 double bed with en suite bathroom
2 bedroom villa - 4 people - 1 double and 2 single beds - 2 bathrooms with shower
3 Bedroom Villa - 6 people - 2 double and 2 single beds - 2 bathrooms with shower
4 Bedroom Villa - 8 people - 3 double and 2 single beds - 2 bathrooms with shower

Some of the villas have only double beds. Any special requests should be notified at the time of booking. The master bedroom has one on-suite bathroom with shower and toilet.
All types of villas have a large terrace with sun loungers and a private garden. The villas (except 4 bedroom ones) have also a garage so you can park your car hire with the purchases directly off the kitchen. All holiday units have a separate laundry room. This is very useful for long term stays.

Sports / Entertainment
In the area around Grand Bay tourists may find in general very good opportunities to spend their leisure time and this area is also the perfect destination for water sport activities. On the beaches of Mont Choisy and Péreybère you can enjoy water sports, such as water skiing or wind surfing. Deep sea fishing tours or golf sessions can be arranged here. Horse enthusiasts will also be able to enjoy a ride in the backcountry in the vicinity of Mont Choisy. When it comes about entertainment, Grand Bay offers the best opportunities in Mauritius.

Tips / Suggestions
Our team recommends a car hire while in Mauritius. The pavements are not fully separated from the road. Anyone should experience a bus ride once, but for sure no one wants to spend ones holiday in a time-consuming bus. Guests of Athena Villas don't necessarily need a car because everything is reachable within walking distance.
